For lunch today, I went to this
little spot that has been on my list for awhile: Chiaroscuro. It’s a tiny
little Italian place tucked away on the corner of Montgomery and Washington. It
was impressive. My group and I didn’t have any expectations upon going. I liked
what I saw upon reading the menu, was delighted by the presentation, and very
impressed with the food. We all cleaned our plates to every last bite. In
between the courses below, we were given a tomato soup amuse bouche that was
delicious…not too rich, and very fresh tomato flavor. I didn’t even get to the
sandwich menu on the back before picking out my pasta, but I definitely want to
go back and try the sammies.
Insalate: mixed greens topped with sliced pears (drizzled with balsamic vinaigrette) and pecorino cheese.
Pasta: Housemade tagliolini (thicker spaghetti noodles) with caramelized onions, imported guanciole (a diced version of pancetta with more pepper), tomato and romano cheese.
